This is a dress that is comfortable and flattering whether or not you are expecting. You will find yourself slipping into it again and again, season after season. The bodice may be gently shirred, or darted for a more refined fit. The button front makes nursing possible. Or, the bodice may be made without buttons and simply slipped over the head. The jewel or scoop neckline may be accented with a Peter Pan or Eton collar, trimmed with lace, or left untrimmed. Long or short sleeves may be made with gentle shirring or classic easing at the shoulder. The simple two-piece skirt flows from the empire waistline in gathers or pleats, while the flattering six-gored skirt may be made to fall smoothly from the waistline, or with extra gathering in front. Back ties provide beautiful shaping. Waistband and cuffs are optional.
